BSc Sustainability – 4 years
What will you study?
This interdisciplinary degree explores a wide range of sustainability issues, such as the climate emergency, energy futures, mobilities and policy development, amongst many others. Gain the necessary skills to address and prevent issues related to global sustainability.
Using Dubai as a laboratory, and with close links to practitioners, international organisations and government bodies, BSc Sustainability will provide you with a holistic approach to developing solutions and engaging with a diverse range of communities. You will work along staff who research on a wide range of sustainability issues, in many locations around the world, who all take an interdisciplinary approach to developing practical solutions.
After a broad grounding of current issues in your first year, the second and third year modules engage with current practice, development and policy. Therefore, you will be ideally placed as you enter the workplace to work on complex, interdisciplinary, issues.
Rather than testing your memory in exams you will be assessed through a variety of ‘real world’ methods based on living projects. For example, you could be asked to produce a government facing report on an issue around Energy Futures. Developing such skills will be invaluable to your future career.
